Lanturn is a niche choice for Water teams as a specially defensive pivot, and check for Flying and Electric types such as Thundurus-T. What sets Lanturn apart from the other Electric immunities like Swampert is the fact that it is able to check Pokemon that would otherwise them, such as Grass Knot Thundurus-T and Choice Specs Zapdos. Volt Absorb helps out tremendously in the Electric matchup, and against teams that utilize Volt Switch. Volt Absorb can also be used as a form of recovery with correct prediction. Volt Switch allows Lanturn to pivot and gain momentum. Toxic wears down opponents such as Swampert and Thundurus-T, which Lanturn is otherwise helpless against. Heal Bell helps prevent Lanturn and its teammates from being worn down by Toxic users, such as Toxapex. Protect allows Lanturn to gain some health back using Leftovers, stall Pokemon that have been badly poisoned, and scout Choice-locked foes such as Landorus-T.

An Electric immune Pokemon is useful to practically every Pokemon on a Water team that is not immune to it. While Lanturn's main niche historically has been on defensive water teams, it can be used on other kinds of teams, such as balanced or offensive ones. Pelipper makes for an ideal partner for Lanturn, as it has an immunity to Ground-type moves, and can switch into strong physical attacks that otherwise threaten Lanturn. Lanturn can also help preserve Pelipper and its Rain setting with its immunity to Electric-type moves. Toxapex makes for an ideal partner for Lanturn, as it can deal with Grass type Pokemon that threaten water teams, such as Choice Scarf Tapu Bulu, and can be used to remove Toxic Spikes. Mantine is a Pokemon that works well when paired with Lanturn. Lanturn's Volt Absorb takes synergises well with Mantine, as it allows for an easy switch-in to Mantine's quadruple weakness to Electric-type moves, while Mantine is immune to ground type moves that are super effective against Lanturn. Other electric immunities, such as Swampert and Quagsire are ideal as they can take on Pokemon that threaten Lanturn's weak Physical Defense stat, such as Zeraora. Sap Sipper Azumarill makes for an ideal partner on stall water teams, as it provides Lanturn with a Grass immunity to work alongside with, and pressures Nasty Plot Hydreigon. Slowking can switch into special attacking Pokemon that threaten Lanturn, such as Nidoking, Sub-Roost Kyurem, and Tapu Lele. Crawdaunt can benefit from Lanturn's ability to wear opponents down, as Lanturn allows it to have an easier time to pull off a late game sweep against types like Poison, Dark, and Steel. Suicine can also function well when paired with Lanturn with their ability to sweep late game, and Tapu Fini can prevent Lanturn from being poisoned with Misty Surge. Urshifu-R is a tremendous wallbreaker that can take care of bulky Pokemon that threaten Lanturn, such as Excadrill, Heatran, and Ferrothorn, and Kyurem. Lanturn can also bring Urshifu-R in safely via Volt Switch. Lanturn pairs well with offensive Pokemon such as Barraskewda, as they make up for Lanturn's passivity, and Lanturn's Volt Switch can be used to bring in these Pokemon safely.

Scald can be run in favour of Protect to further spread status and as a way of hitting Pokemon that it otherwise would not be able to hit, such as Excadrill, on the switch. Doing this, however, would limit leftovers recovery, which is the only form of recovery that Lanturn has along with predicting Electric-type moves with Volt Absorb.

Para 1: Lanturn is a niche choice for wWater teams as a specially defensive pivot, and check for fFlying and eElectric teams (what makes Lanturn special compared to the traditional immunities like Swampert though? I think its best to merge this sentence to the next sentence [checks Thund-T because its not nommed by Gknot, for instance]). Volt absorb allows for an immunity to electric teams (its not immune to elec teams, its immune to elec moves) and allow it to check what are usually threatening pPokemon to water teams, such as Thundurus-T and Choice Specs Zapdos. Volt absorb can also be used as a form of recovery with correct prediction. (you can move this sentence to the last one if you want to, but this sentence feels unnecessary) Volt Switch allows lLanturn to pivot and gain momentum. Toxic can be used to wears down opponents such as Swampert and Thundurus-T, which can come in on a predicted Volt Switch. and can be used against pokemon immune to Volt Switch, such as Swampert and Thundurus-T when the opponent attempts to predict a volt switch. Heal bell nullifies pokemon who attempt to beat Lanturn using status (like who? Idt its nullified, but something around the lines of keeping lanturn healthy enough in case Thund-T hits it with a Toxic, for instance), and can be used to heal the other members of a team. protect allows Lanturn to gain some health back using leftovers, stall pokemon that have been badly poisoned, and scout moves. 228 HP is to recover extra HP with leftovers, optimizing its recovery. (what are 28 Def EVs for)

Para 2: An electric immune pokemon is useful to practically every pokemon on a water team that is not immune to it. While Lanturn's main niche historically has been on defensive water teams, it can be used on other kinds of teams, such as balanced or offensive rain water. Pelipper makes for an ideal partner for Lanturn, as it has an immunity to groud-type moves, and can switch into strong physical attacks that otherwise threaten Lanturn. Pelipper's defog clears entry hazards that wear lanturn down, and its u-turn can be used to form a 'volt-turn' core with Lanturn. (I think Peli would be a weird example if ever, Toxapex fits better as 1.) its a Grass neutral mon that deals with Tapu Bulu and removes Tspikes for it, 2.) Is found on Balance and Rain water, compared to Peli thats only on rain water) Lanturn's volt absorb takes immense pressure off of Pelipper as it allows for an easy switch-in to Pelipper's quadruple weakness to electric-type moves (If you want to, add Mantine over Peli Imo, because its a rain setter first, and a defensive Flying-type is kinda an afterthought. Alternatively, add Peli + Barra much later in the paragraph as offensive options that compensate for Lanturn's passivity) . Physically defensive ground types, such as swampert and quagsire are ideal as they can take on pokemon that threaten Lanturn's weak physical defense stat, such as Zeraora. Urshifu-R is a tremendous wallbreaker that can take care of bulky pokemon that threaten lanturn, such as excadrill, heatran, and ferrothorn, and kyurem. Lanturn can also bring Urshifu-R in safely via volt switch.
*I didnt capitalize them anymore but Pokemon and Pokemon names should be capitalized. Moves like Volt Switch also need to be capitalized
*Add Slowking as a check to Special attackers like Tapu Lele which Lanturn really doesnt handle much. It also gives water teams breathing room against SubRoost (though not specs...) Kyurem
*As Lanturn specializes in wearing stuff down, late-game bulky wincons might also be good teammates
*For hard stall teams, sap sipper Azu is a grass immune partner that also pressures Nasty Plot Hydreigon

Scald can be run in favor of heal bell or protect, but doing this would only make it easier to wear lanturn down, and strips lanturn of its secondary role as a cleric. (Heal Bell is kinda better than Protect imo)

Lanturn's passivity, and Lanturn's Volt Switch can be used to bring in these offensive Pokemon safely. Lanturn can help preserve Pelipper and its rain setting with its immunity to Electric-type moves. Pelipper then helps Lanturn as it is able to switch into Ground-types such as (insert mons).

- unless 228 hp / 28 defense is for a specific calc make it 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD, mention what 228/28 is for if so. the hp thing doesnt matter, give it as much hp as possible otherwise imo
- mantine also removes hazards for lanturn, allowing it to switchin easier esp since it doesnt have reliable recovery
- mention what perishpool azu can beat for lanturn
- mention cm tapu fini, strong bulky setup on fatter water teams for lanturn
